(GENERAL/HONOURS)

THREE YEARS DEGREE COURSE

The Bachelor of Science (General/Honours) shall cover a period of three academic years and shall be known in the first year of study as the B. Sc. (General/Honours) Part-I in the second year of the study as the B. Sc. (General/Honours) Part-II and in the third year of study as the B. Sc. (General/Honours) Part-III course.

 

QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION:

  1. The students may be admitted to the course of instructions for the Degree of Bachelor of Science (General/Honours) if he has passed the Intermediate Examination of Science from a recongnised Board/University.
  2. For admission to course of instructions for the Honours Degree it shall be necessary for a student to have obtained not less than 45% marks at the I. Sc.  Examination in the subject in which he/ she intends to offer Honours.

 

SUBJECTS FOR B. Sc. (GENERAL)

A candidate for 6. Sc. (General) Course shall be required to offer three Optional Subjects, comprising of nine papers and one/two languages as composition, comprising two papers and one paper for Env. & Ethics. In all there shall be 12 (twelve) papers divided into 4 (four) papers for each part of the course, according to the following structure :-

Each of the papers shall carry one hundred (100) marks, including 25 marks for the Practical Examination wherever practical examination is prescribed.

 

A candidate for B. Sc. (General) Course shall choose any one of the following Optional Groups :-

(a)      Physics,   Chemistry & Mathematics

(b)      Chemistry,   Botany & Zoology

A candidate shall choose either (a) or (b) for composition.

(a)      Hindi       —      One full paper of 100 marks for each of the Part-I

                                 and Part-II examination.

(b)      Hindi       —      50 marks (for Non-Hindi Students) and Mother Tongue - 50 marks

 

Any one of the following Languages can be offered :- Bengali, Oriya, Urdu, Alt. English for each of the part-l and part-ll Examination.

 

SUBJECTS FOR B.Sc. (HONS.) COURSE :

A candidate for the B. Sc. (Hons.) Course shall offer honours in one subject comprising of 8 (eight) papers, two subsidiary subjects comprising 4 (four) papers, one or two Languages as Composition comprising 2 (two) papers and one paper as Env. & Ethics. In all there shall be 15 (fifteen) papers divided into 5 (five) papers for each part of the course as per structure given overleaf:—

                                 and Part-II examination.

(b)      Hindi       —      50 marks and any one of the following languages (50 marks) for each of the part-I and part-II
